| Ubud
is located on the northwest of Gianyar. Ubud name comes
after ubad or medicine, it passes on to the curative
assets of a herb that produces along the Campuhan River.
Many of Ubud's aristocrats were famous for the remedial
ability, and long after the closure of royal status,
Ubud's royals carry on to order admiration.
Ubud has also long enjoyed its world known reputation
as the arts quarter. If tourists want to understand
more about Ubud, It's recommended to visit to at least
one art museum, such as Museum Neka, Antonio Blanco's
Mansion, Museum Puri Lukisan, Puri Lempad, Seniwati
Gallery, Agung Rai Museum of Art, Museum Rudana, etc.
The Monkey Forest is another tourist attraction in
Central Ubud. Its attraction is perhaps more to tradition
than to any inherent worth. Like all monkey forest in
Bali, nomadic gangs of roguish, maddening and fearless
monkeys, which apparently protect the temple, interrupt
the experience.
