 The
Gili’s are small islands dotted all around Lombok,
but those off the north west coast are becoming popular
with day trippers, backpackers and serious divers looking
for the perfect island getaway. With sparkling crystal
clear waters, white sand beaches, simple bungalows and
small hotels, the 3 Gili Islands are perfect for travellers
who like to escape the crowds and find somewhere new.
The Gili Islands, however, has come to refer to three
islands in particular Gili Air, Gili Meno and Gili Trawangan.
The Gili Islands are now a mecca for snorkellers and
scuba divers, although dynamite blasting as damages
some of the inner reefs and there are plans to further
develop the islands with major hotels and golf courses.
On
Gili Trawangan, the largest of the three islands, Getaway
